Their responsibilities include producing and maintaining rules for ensuring fair competition participated by members and manufacturers. Novak Kinetic/Ballistic Brushless System has just arrvied @ rcMart!

After years of designing, testing and perfecting, Novak – the forerunner of speed control technology – has completed its greatest engineering accomplishment. Novak’s flagship Kinetic Racing Brushless ESC (#1740), which is available in 8 Kinetic/Ballistic Brushless Systems – 5.5T-21.5T (#3142-#3149), includes all of the most sought after speed control features in R/C racing, such as Novak’s Dynamic Timing Advance™, which features a cutting-edge timing system that is exceptionally smooth throughout all of the timing levels; the advanced NovaBrakes™ system, which provides instantaneous braking under any timing condition; and the highly developed Thermal Overload Protection feature, which prevents thermal overload without taking drivers out of the race. But it wouldn’t be a Novak speed control if the Kinetic did not include some brand new features that will inevitably raise the standard for speed controls throughout the industry.

Novak isn’t a stranger to innovation. It has repeatedly brought original products and technological advancements to the R/C industry, and, to no one’s surprise, Novak is doing it again! The Ballistic 550 Brushless Motors (#3504-#3506) are the first 550-sized motors to break into short course competition and easily outperform traditional 540-sized motors. The Ballistic 550s are so powerful because of their extra long stator and rotor magnet. In fact, the stator and rotor magnet are twice the length of 540-sized motors, giving them twice the torque of an equivalent 540 motor. The more torque, the more speed that is generated! Additionally, these larger-sized motors run cooler and more efficiently than their 540 counterparts. These high-powered machines are the motors of choice at small, indoor race tracks and easily install into OFNA’s® Hyper 10 SC Pro 4×4 Kit™, OFNA’s® Jammin’ SCRT 10 4X4 Kit™, Traxxas’® Slash 4X4 4WD Short Course Trucks™ and many other 1/10-scale short course trucks.

In addition to its already impressive features, including low-speed driveability and no cogging, the Ballistic 550s have also been fitted with rugged 5mm output shafts for maximum resilience and race life. Additionally, the motors are sensor-based for a smooth and controlled power delivery.

Novak’s new Kinetic Racing Brushless ESC made a bold statement at the Cactus Classic on March 19-21, 2010. Jeremy Felles spearheaded the impressive Kinetic-powered finishes by earning the top qualifying honors in 2WD Stock (13.5) Buggy and 2WD Stock (13.5) Truck. He also received the overall win in both classes.

In the 2WD Truck Division, three other drivers powered their Kinetic’s to top finishes. Danny Stojackovic finished fourth overall and fifth overall in the 2WD Buggy Division. Kevin Smit finished sixth in 2WD Truck. Team Novak Driver Bill Koch, who used a Ballistic 17.5T Brushless Motor in the 13.5T Division, finished a remarkable seventh overall. Furthermore, Koch placed fifth overall in the 10.5T Division with a Ballistic 13.5T.

Thanks to all of the drivers who supported Novak, and congrats to the Cactus winners!

Novak’s Smart Boost 1-Cell Li-Po Step-Up Module allows nearly any brushless or brushed speed control, receiver and servo to run on 1-cell Li-Po. This new technology expands racing opportunities for many drivers by reducing racing expenses and giving drivers the chance to race on smaller tracks.
The Smart Boost increases the 1-cell Li-Po battery pack’s voltage from 3.3V - 4.2V to 6V, ensuring that the receiver and servo receive a full 6V/3A power throughout the duration of a run. This allows the electronics to operate at their optimum levels. Additionally, the Smart Boost gives you the ability to run a 1-cell Li-Po cell with the same ESC, servo and receiver that you would normally run with any 2-3S Li-Po or 4-7 cell NiMH battery pack, including all of Novak’s brushed or brushless speed controls.

With input from the top drifters of the world, Novak has developed the SLYDR Brushless Drift System (#3066-3068). This system includes the new SLYDR Brushless Drift ESC (#1712) factory-wired to one of three, new Novak Drift-Spec Brushless Motors (#3466-3468). These 540-size sensored brushless motors include the Novak 13mm Neodymium Sintered rotor for improved initial throttle response and natural drag brake. The SLYDR Drift ESC, which is based on Novak’s GTB, contains new brake adjustments and features to help fine tune brake response, as well as all new throttle curve adjustments to further customize the already-smooth throttle response.
